Beef with Oyster Sauce

 




Ingredients:

500 g lean beef, sliced very thin strips

2 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp water

1 tsp black pepper

Seasoning Sauce:

2 tbsp oyster sauce

1 1/2 tbsp water

2 tbsp soy sauce

3 tbsp beef stock

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp grated ginger

3 tbsp cooking oil

1/2 cup chopped green onion

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp sugar

2 cups of steam broccoli, or any steamed vegetables you desire

Direction:

1. Place the beef strips in a bowl. Mix together the soy sauce, cornstarch, black pepper and water in a small cup. Pour this mixture to the beef, toss well and keep in the fridge for 15 minutes to marinade.

2. Heat cooking oil in a pan, stir fry the marinated beef strips in a medium high heat, for 2 minutes or more, then set aside.

3. In the same pan, add a tbsp of oil and lightly brown the garlic, ginger and half of the green onions. Mix the oyster sauce, soy sauce, water, and beef stock , salt and sugar in a cup, pour in the pan and let it bubble for a while before adding the cooked beef. Mix well and serve on a plain white rice. Add the steamed broccoli on the mixture or can be as a side dish.
