Chocolate Chips Macaroon





Ingredients:

   Crust:
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
2 pcs egg yolks

    Macaroon Topping:
2 pcs. egg whites
1 tbsp sugar
3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup chocolate chips
2 cups dessicated coconut
     
Directions:
Combine all ingredients for the crust in a small bowl. Blend mixture together until particles are small crumbs. Press in greased  11 x 7 inch rectangular pan. Bake at 300F for 12- 15 minutes. Do not brown.
Prepare macaroon topping by beating egg whites in a bowl until soft peak form; add sugar, continue beating until stiff peaks form. Fold in the remaining ingredients.  Spread evenly, over crust.
Bake at 300F for 25-30 minutes. Cool, then cut into bars. Refrigerate until serving time...
