Ingredients:
25 - 30 pcs mussels
1 head garlic
100 g butter
1/2 cup milk
1/4 tsp salt
4 tbsp breadcrumbs
cheddar cheese or mozzarella cheese, grated
chopped parsley or green onion, to garnish
Directions:
1. Clean the mussels by removing the thread that is coming out of the shell. Wash and put in a large pot. No need to add water. Cover the pot with lid and let it cook for about 5 minutes, or until the shells open up. Remove from the pot and discard the empty shell. Tap dry the mussels and arrange in a rectangular tray with parchment paper and set aside.
2. Meanwhile, in a small sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter, then add minced garlic. Cook until tender then add breadcrumbs. Mix for a minute. Add in the milk and stir continuously until the sauce thickens. Season with salt.
3. Fill each mussels with the sauce using teaspoon. Sprinkle grated cheese on top of each mussels and bake at 180C for 15 minutes or until cheese has melted and a bit browned on top. Serve hot.
