Beef Picadillo

 





Ingredients:

2 tbsp cooking oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, chopped

1 medium tomato, chopped

1 cup ground beef

1 tbsp tomato puree

2 cups hot water

1 medium potato, cubed

1 medium carrots, cubed

1/2 cup frozen green peas

salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Brown garlic in hot oil, add onion, saute until translucent then add tomato. Let it cook for 3 minutes, then add the minced beef. Mix for 5 minutes before pouring in the hot water. Add tomato puree. Cook slowly in medium high heat  until meat is soft. Add in the potato, carrots and green peas and cook until soft. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
